Even though the average annual rainfall is quite low (about 60 centimetres), our cool nights and warm days conspire with the Valley's combination of rich, red alluvial soils and limestone to make it one of the best regions anywhere in the world for producing full-flavoured, concentrated wines. If there is any argument about that, there is absolutely no doubt that Clare is now one of the world's best Riesling-producing regions.
